From Our Friends at Texas Neighborhood Coalition:
Join us tomorrow: City of Plano to offer timing for STR ordinances
Wondering what's happening with getting short-term rentals out of our Plano neighborhoods? We have movement...finally!
Please read this important update about city meetings in March and April and possible ordinances for short-term rental zoning and registration.
Plano City Council, Mon Feb 26
Come at 6 pm to learn about the timeline for implementing two short-term rental ordinances.
Christina Day with the City of Plano will be presenting to City Council a timeline to implement a short-term rental registration ordinance and a short-term rental zoning ordinance.
This presentation will be during the preliminary open session, so we are asking TNC Plano supporters to be there by 6 pm.
We are in the final stretch to get short-term rentals out of our neighborhoods. Please come to these meetings in March and April and bring your friends and neighbors.
Based on the timeline that will be presented tomorrow, this is our current understanding of future meetings and actions:
Tuesday, March 19: Final report of the short-term rental study to be presented to Plano City Council. Council members could vote on a short-term rental registration program at this meeting.
Monday, April 1: A public hearing at Plano Planning & Zoning for a short-term rental zoning ordinance amendment. P&Z could vote on this ordinance. This meeting has to occur before Plano City Council can consider the adoption of a zoning ordinance. (Meeting to be held at Davis Library.)
Monday, Apr 22: A public hearing at City Council for a short-term rental zoning ordinance. This is the meeting where Plano City Council could vote to implement a zoning ordinance that would prohibit short-term rentals in single-family neighborhoods. (Also at Davis Library.) THIS IS IT. MARK YOUR CALENDAR TODAY.
We will provide updates about these meetings as soon as information becomes available. All meetings are listed on our website at https://www.tncplano.org/events.
Thank you for your continued support.
