Reminder: Tomorrow, Feb 7, Plano STR Open House
From Our Friends at Texas Neighborhood Coalition
From Our Friends at Texas Neighborhood Coalition:
Hello:
Welcome to the new year! Thank you for your support and participation as part of TNC Plano. We made good progress last year in getting short-term rentals out of our neighborhoods. We are hopeful that 2024 will bring a permanent solution.
WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP TO BAN SHORT-TERM RENTALS.
Most immediate: Please attend the STR Open House NEXT WEEK on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
This will be the last public event before the STR Task Force finalizes recommendations that will be presented to City Council and Planning and Zoning. Come and tell the City you do not want short-term rentals in Plano neighborhoods.
We had a great turnout previously, so let's do it again.
Are you having problems with a short-term rental?
The City of Plano created this graphic about who you should contact based on the specific issue at the short-term rental. ALWAYS contact Neighborhood Services or Plano Police for every incident, every time. Take pictures and video. Again, every time.
REMEMBER:
There is an interim ban on all new short-term rentals in Plano until mid-May 2024.
If you come across a new short-term rental, contact Neighborhood Services. If a house once operated as a short-term rental and now has long-term renters, but the house is still listed on Airbnb or another platform, submit this information to the Short-term Rental Task Force. These houses are still showing up in the city's system as STRs, even though they have long-term renters.
Click here to contact STR Task Force.
Thank you for your continued support. And remember, don't suffer in silence. Report every incident that occurs at a short-term rental.
Sincerely,
Bill France
