President’s Message
Greetings PCC readers!
It’s an important voting time—Municipal Elections, and they have consequences as there are four (4) seats on the Plano City Council to be decided with this election. Therefore, your action or lack thereof could easily influence the future of our city for years to come. Our organization began by talking to locally active citizens with a strong interest in representing their fellow citizens as a councilman and was then vetted by a group of interested citizens/voters to determine the best qualified among them to represent you for the next 4-8 years. Your attention is directed to a copy of the PCC door hanger that highlights the individuals selected by our vetting committee for Council, PISD and Collin College Board of Trustees.
At the same time, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to outgoing Councilmen Rick Smith, Anthony Ricciardelli and Shelby Williams, all of whom have served us well, though Anthony may stay on a bit longer depending on the outcome of his race in Place 2. We also wish Shelby the best of luck in his pursuit of a seat on the Collin County Commissioners’ Court in 2026. In order to save the city the expense of an election at a later date, Shelby opted to resign now, prior to that race. Shelby has set a new standard in communication with his constituents by issuing communication ahead of Council meetings and subsequent to them as well. This sets a high bar for those to follow. His most recent wrap-up for the meeting Monday, April 28th can be watched HERE.
In the meantime, early voting for this election has concluded, and the last day to vote is Saturday, May 3rd. There are more voting locations and a longer voting day, so MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD and go to the polls and VOTE!
Pat Greer, President
Plano City News: Residential Land Uses Part of Zoning & Subdivision Ordinance Rewrite
Provide Feedback on the Zoning & Subdivision Rewrite
Plano’s Zoning and Subdivision ordinances are being combined and updated into a single Unified Development Code document. This rewrite aims to align the code with our current Comprehensive Plan, simplify regulations, streamline the review process and provide clearer guidance for redevelopment.
These ordinances are being developed in four phases. The second part of Module 1 focuses on residential land uses. It is now available for public review and feedback. The comments you provide will be shared with the Rewrite Advisory Committee, Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council to help refine the Code before public hearings in 2026.
For more details and to view project documents, visit Plano.gov/UDC.
